Silver Jews were founded by David Berman along with Pavement’s Stephen Malkmus and Bob Nastanovich. Berman is now the only remaining founding member. The music is awesome and slightly reminiscent of Club Dread’s Coconut Pete. The cover of the latest album Lookout Mountain, Lookout Sea has Babar references, nice.

Nicolas Lampert, the man behind the meatscapes also creates machine-animal collages (probably pre-meatscape). I was wandering through the Wunderkammer exhibit at Moma this afternoon and came upon some of these great collages, which were also purchased for the permanent collection. After the jump, iphone photos of the pieces.

Way back in February we mentioned briefly an interesting looking mug created by design duo Thabto. It turns out that this was actually a concept and we received word that, now the mug (with a few modifications) is a reality and ready for purchase. My initial query of whether or not it is comfortable to hold is still up in the air but, now at least, it is holdable.
