God Tube

god-tube.jpg

Have you heard about this? I hadn’t. And whether I am better off now or not, is up for debate. More than anything else, I am glad that I do not have to watch television during the day. Seriously, does a news channel really have to cover a story like Are Christians Skipping Out On Church Attendance?
Oh yeah, and quotes like this in response,

“MY CONGREGATION HAS BEEN FEWER AND FEWER EACH YEAR. ITS UPSETTING AND I BLAME ALL THE PERVERSE THINGS LIKE TV AND MOVIES AND MUSIC. IT IS UPSETTING, YOU CAN SEE SATAN IN THE MUSIC TELEVISION TELLING KIDS TO STAY HOME AND SMOKE DOPE INSTEAD OF GOING TO CHURCH.”

Thanks PASTERJEFF, keep the caps locked.
And, Thanks a lot GodTube.

what’s up next

upnext-1.jpg
UPnext, discover your city in 3D! Its pretty cool and one of my favorite features is the ability to click on the buildings and see who’s in them! The bright glowing spots are events, restaurants and bars. It is a cool site but the big thing it needs is speed, the load is a bit slow. Like all new technologies it will be that way at first. And so we wait.

chuck close does bill clinton

chuck-close-bill-clinton.jpg

Chuck Close has an opening tomorrow night, Family and Others, at London’s prestigious White Cube. His 7′ x 9′ portrait study of Bill Clinton will be unveiled to the public as well. Men’s Vogue sat down with the artist prior to this great event. My favorite quote by Close, “But I never wanted to work for a living, and if it’s a commission, it’s like I’m working for somebody else and it’s not my painting. I just never like to feel that way.”

yet another music store

amazonmp3.jpg

Amazon announced the public beta of a new service called Amazon MP3, a music download store that sells MP3 music downloads that do not include any Digital Rights Management (DRM). The MP3 formatted files are compatible with a wide range of music players, including the Apple iTunes, iPod and iPhone. Songs are priced from 89 cents to 99 cents, and albums from $5.99 to $9.99. All MP3s are encoded in 256kbps format and are now available at Amazon. Notice they needed to make sure the user knows it will work on its ipod, since that seems to be the only relevant digital music player to sell for.
