3:36 p.m. Got the call of the day from The World’s Best Ever.

4:49 p.m. En route to the Blue Collective, one of three dispensaries holding Blue Ivy OG within 70 miles of my home. Shout out to Weedmaps.

5:31 p.m. Inside the dispensary, I get to break even more rules, and am allowed to use my cell phone camera with a verbal press pass. See the board picture for proof. #stoked.

5:49 p.m. Blue Ivy OG in hand and traffic is relatively painless. I call Brandon, my photographer friend, and set up a time to smoke and shoot.

6:20 p.m. Home. I FaceTime Kelly, my pal in Brooklyn, and smoke the joint of Headband I got as a new patient perk. It’s the first time I’ve smoked all day (kind of a big deal).

7:50 p.m. I meet my friend Ben at the Arclight to see The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo. David Fincher, you drive me wild. Thumbs up up up.

10:30 p.m. Ben teaches me how to sneak into Theatre 1 without paying. Sick trick.

10:57 p.m. Home again. Abby FaceTimes me from down the street. I make white rice with melted vegan cheese as I tell her how awesome my day has been. (White rice with melted vegan cheese tastes like mac and cheese. It does when you’re high, anyway.) Abby says she’s about to smoke and I tell her to meet me downstairs on McDuff in five. The timing is perfect: she hops in my car just as I roll up and we chill for 10 and burn the rest of my Headband joint.

11:44 p.m. Yeah boi, made it to Brandon’s, paraphernalia and props in hand. We get right down to business. He shoots; I style. Beaker drops by and it gets hot. I feel like I need to smoke more, but I have to wait till we wrap.

12:40 a.m. Start to feel like we will never get to smoke this highly sought after Mary.

1:05 a.m. Finished. We smoke a joint and it’s “Glory”-ous. For an Indica it wakes me up. I feel focused and wrapped in a confident blanket. I want to stay on the couch longer, but there’s still more I have to do at home and two dogs who need me.

1:33 a.m. The 50-degree chill along with the radio, which bumps Beastie Boys “Jump Around,” wakes me the fuck up.

4:12 a.m. The high’s done, the taste test is done and I feel like I wouldn’t mind smoking some more Blue Ivy OG another time. Meep meep.

For this installment of “Artist Eats,” we asked Bill McRight to share his favorite place to eat. Bill is an artist, printmaker and member Space 1026, who also makes sticks that kill in his free time.

“My favorite place to eat is Cafe Brasil on Venice in Culver City,” Bill says, “It’s such a rad little spot and it has a hotel attached to it! I usually end up there after work and starving. I’ve been there a bunch of times but always order the exact same meal. They have this amazing spicy catfish that comes on a bed of rice with this super good pico de gallo and sweet plantains on one plate. But it doesn’t stop there, they also give you black beans and a choice of soup—I only get the spicy black bean soup but I hear the lentil one is pretty rad too. As if that wasn’t enough, I also get this rad cheese bread (and if you go late enough they might hook you up with and extra piece). To drink? Xingu beer, no doubt! It always makes the world right for me and they pretty much always have soccer on the TVs. It rules!”
