]]>So Griffin and Threadless are collaborating on some products and sent us a couple of their new cases and some Tees to check out. I have to say that these, by far, are the best cases for the iPhone I’ve used. We told you about the Cozip cases a while back, and it looks like Griffin took some tips from their design and took it up a notch. The pairing with Threadless adds a unique, one-of-a-kind user generated design to the mix. Another cool thing, the cases will not chip, and the solid plastic with the nice “grippy” texture is very streamline! These look solid enough that I may pick up a set. Probably also pretty good for some late night frag sessions at full volume without waking up neighbors or roomies…

Then there’s Left 4 Dead 2, hot on the trails of the first gory version, so it suffers a bit for being more of the same but sounds like it manages to introduce some new enemies, new weapons, and new locations.

]]>Since we slept yesterday on the birthday of LSD, we thought it fitting to show you the 7,500 square meter LCD screen at The Place Mall in Beijing, China where it could be fun to take the drug. Suspended over a mall, the giant sreen features ads and promotions but, most of the time it’s an aquarium. How cool is that? Even cooler would be if there were interactive video installations with it.

For who knows how many years, I have apparently been cheating myself and the music I listen to by using regular headphones. The past week I’ve had the opportunity to try out a pair of headphones from Audio Chi, and am seriously amazed at the quality of sound delivered to my ears. They are light, super comfortable on the dome piece, and look really tight with a simple chrome touch. On top of it all, I mixed this week’s Sound Advice with them on and could not have been happier. Perfect for the desktop or on-the-go, these headphones are staying with me.

It’s not just your earbuds that’s affecting your hearing. I found this really amazing, geeky article about the”loudness war” that is currently being fought in the recording booth. It is a very interesting read about how music is losing its dynamic range. Today’s artists turn up the volume so they can be heard above everyone else, very king of the jungle if you ask me. It’s gotten to the point that a non for profit group, Turn Me Up has been formed to bring dynamic range back to music. If you love music check out the story and all the charts and diagrams.
