New Balance Custom 574 Program

It’s no secret that I’m a huge New Balance fan (I’ve been wearing the brand since at least 1993), and it is also not a secret that I think the 574 model is the weakest ‘lifestyle’ model they produce. I went on the New Balance custom site and made a pair almost entirely out of the color blushing bride as a passive protest for the company to step up its game and give us some other custom options. 998′s would be nice, same with 875′s. Hell, even the stoner-friendly-no-sock 420′s would be great. But that 574… pass.
If you’re unlike me and like them though, by all means, get to customizing.

Furni Rockassins

A while back I mentioned that our friends at Furni were producing a limited run of mocassins handmade in Canada. Well, the pair I ordered arrived earlier this week and I couldn’t be happier with how beautiful the shoe is. Unfortunately for those who did not order, there is no chance of getting a pair in this color. However, word is that Furni will be doing another color run in black later this season. Don’t sleep.

Rockassins

If the name doesn’t sell you on these shoes, the price ($98) and the looks will. Our friends at Furni have collaborated with a small family biz in Montreal to produce a limited run of mocassins. Handcrafted from “caramel” coloured Brazilian leather and featuring a crepe sole, the ankle high mocassins begin their first production this Monday, February 21st.
