Images from the 2013 adidas FANATIC

Beer was drank, food was eaten, music was felt, smiles were had, blood was shed, sweat was poured, and most importantly, soccer was played.

Openings & Parties: Focus Paintings and XSTRACTION at The Hole

Ah, Spring. It brings bursts of color to the go-to blackness of New York, and forms shapes from the bundled layers. I say this both about the work in XSTRACTION and the crowd that gathered at The Hole. Holton Rower’s new paintings are deceptively great as well, drawing the viewer’s focus to the out-of-focus. Christos Katsiaouni was on autofocus to photograph it all.

This was a good party with nice art, drinks and babes, and the Whitney raised over $450,000 towards their independent study program. Win-win.

Hurricane Sandy dumped six feet of water into the basement storage of Printed Matter, resulting in a loss of over 9,000 books. To help ease the cost of repair and enhancement of their storage, a benefit auction and selling exhibition is currently taking place at the Rauschenberg Foundation Project Space. Christos Katsiaouni was in house this past Thursday to document some of the attendees of the art preview.
