Just when I was thinking of upgrading some of my shared drive storage: Today, Amazon has a deal on the Western Digital 1.5 TB Caviar Green SATA Hard Drive. It’s $85 – about a 25% lower price and 50% more storage than a 1TB drive a year ago. These also go up to 2TB, but I don’t think the price is right on those yet.
If you’ve got a crappy AT&T mobile phone signal in your abode, the AT&T 3G MicroCell could help. It routes your phone’s calls over your broadband internet connection. Not sure how I feel about shelling out $150 to help them extend their signal, and then essentially ‘giving’ them my internet service that I’ve already paid for – but sometimes it’s worth taking some extreme measures to make sure you’ve got a signal at home.

Well it’s not really backstage but, more like behind the velvet rope. This January Terry Rodgers will have a solo exhibit at Aeroplastics Contemporary in Brussels, Belgium. The show features new paintings from Terry’s hyperreal worlds. He describes his work as, “a profusion of luxurious details and a complex pictorial architecture in combination with frustrated and sublimated desires makes for a curious, static combustion.” His work is larger than life beautiful, with skilled erotic realities of desire and excess. If you cannot make the show, be sure to pick up a hard copy of his monograph Dimensions of Ambiguity.
For the discerning video and audiophile, why not combine furniture, audio, and an iPod/iPhone dock all into one unit? For about $4 G’s you can have this beauty.
Gift giving time approaches and you’re trying to find something for the digital camera geek who has it all. How about this handy GPS dongle that can be synced up with a folder of photos to provide geographic data (a.k.a. geotagging)?
At about $70, this is similar to other devices but this one seems to have a good pedigree, and is a good pocket sized device that plays well with both big DSLR’s and smaller point-and-shoot devices.
