Wow. You Must Watch This Trailer. And then maybe the whole movie.
“A Christlike figure wanders through bizarre, grotesque scenarios filled with religious and sacrilegious imagery. He meets a mystical guide who introduces him to seven wealthy and powerful individuals, each representing a planet in the solar system. These seven, along with the protagonist, the guide and the guide’s assistant, divest themselves of their worldly goods and form a group of nine who will seek out the Holy Mountain, in order to displace the gods who live there and become immortal”

These Australian Exploitation films look amazing. We need to watch them.

None of this really makes sense to me but, here is Beautiful Losers on DVD. It will release to the UK August 24th, and features a cover that in no way reflects the styling in the film. Whatever, you should buy it and watch it because it is totally inspirational and will make you want to go out and do something.
This documentary is showing tonight at 8:30pm Tribeca Cinemas as part of the Brazilian Film Festival. We suggest you get tickets.
“For 20 years, a subculture has emerged under society’s radar. Favela On Blast tells the stories of sex, love, poverty and pride for Rio’s marginalized people. They have their own language, style and heros. It’s a music that’s fast, heavy and violent like the city itself. This film is a flash of a few lives of charismatic people that relate to the funk music and a retelling of the subculture itself.”
Check out the Alice in Wonderland Trailer by Tim Burton, the cool thing is they are making a 3D version via IMAX. Check out Chrispin Glover as the Knave of Hearts.
Rated R movies were cool. Hot Dog The Movie.
Just wanted to give a shout out to this underappreciated, straight-to-dvd movie from 2005
Robogeisha is a new movie from the crazy guy behind The Machine Girl. It’s one of the craziest things I have seen in a long time with so much violence. A dude gets stabbed in the eye with a fried shrimp, a girl gets stabbed in the ass and blood goes everywhere…. with that being said, enjoy!
Do The Right Thing turns 20, it also means Public Enemy’s Fight The Power, is also 20 years old. The film and the song brought attention to the racial divide that in America. If you never seen the film please do, it’s Spike Lee’s masterpiece, and it still holds up and asks the same powerful question.
Spike Lee and the movie’s cast – Danny Aiello, Joie Lee and Rosie Perez – as well as Common, DMC, Branford Marsalis, Gloria Reuben and others will be on hand Monday night at the DGA Theater in Manhattan for a special screening of the movie. Via
Stock Shock is a “Michael Moore” style documentary about the short selling manipulation of the stock market through the rise and fall of Sirius/XM. So, if you are wondering where your money went here is a good place to start.
I also found this commentary clip as well…. after the jump.
I have been a fan of Vincent Gallo ever since I saw him in Buffalo 66. He has always stayed true to his indie roots. This new film, Tetro by Francis Ford Coppola looks like it will be his biggest crossover indie flick. Its in B&W, which is a plus. If the film is as good as the trailer……check it out. In theaters June 26th.
Whenever this comes out, it is gonna be good
nope, something called ‘Street Dreams’
