Introducing Bronze Bones

This past Friday in an intimate gathering on the Sunset Terrace at Mondrian South Beach over a year’s worth of hard work came to fruition. Collaborating with my talented friends The Principals, we introduced a set of dominoes, made by hand in Brooklyn, NY out of bronze. Over hours of drinks, we played until the sun set and the darkness finally pushed us out. A big thank you goes out to the Morgans Hotel Group who accommodated us on this special occasion. Look for something even more special from the both of us in the coming week but, for now, we hope you enjoy the Bronze Bones.

The Ames Has Some Of The Slickest Hotel Rooms

If you can get away with a black wall, and follow it up with black tile in the bathroom you’ve won.

Situated in Boston, the Ames Hotel sits diagonal to the historic Old State House, in the first skyscraper the city ever raised. After crazily sitting vacant for 8 years, the hotel was opened in 2009 by the Morgans Hotel Group who tapped the Rockwell Group to handle the building’s architectural planning and interior design. In addition to the 113 contemporary rooms, Ames also boasts a foodie destination in the form of Woodward (manned by executive chef Mark Goldberg), which is rightfully billed “A Modern Day Tavern.” The morning I dined, I had a delicious Eggs Benedict with chorizo and smoked paprika hollandaise (slide 17). If eating is not your thing, opt for a Smuttynose Woodward Ale which is exclusive to the restaurant and brewed in New Hampshire… and possibly some oysters too, just for the sake of having oysters.
