“The chandelier is made of 1000 exploded Party Poppers collected ( on 01.01.00 ) after the Millennium celebrations in London. Each Popper is suspended on a line from a platform above. The sculptural shape sways and moves like an organic form when hit by a breeze of air. Although this original light is a ‘ one off ‘ piece due to the narrative it is recreated using new party poppers. The multi-coloured type is created from blue, green, red, yellow and white poppers. There is also a black edition created purely from black poppers.”

Featured this month in October’s Wallpaper Hotsheet, Save Our Souls. Designers Johannes Carstrom and ceramicist Magdalena Nilsson create objects that they call “bitter-sweet aesthetic”. “Drops”(pictured above) pendant lamps in the shape of black drops of oil- are not only functional, but supposed to act as a comment on the darker side of the world….. The “slow Chair” by Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec for the Vitra Home Collection, is a successful new interpretation of the classic armchair utilising the most current technology. On all versions of the Slow Chair and Ottoman, the frame has a powder-coated finish in the colour of aubergine. The sling upholstery comes in three different colour combinations: aubergine, brown/cream and red/cream.
