Roger Gastman Eats Wendy’s New Sea Salt Fries

I must say that I am an expert at fast food joints fries. I have always really liked Wendy’s fries. I really like dipping them in the Frosty. When I started seeing all these ads for new Wendy’s fries I got very concerned! I tried to get them on xmas eve but they were closed. I ended up there yesterday. Basically Wendys is going for the boardwalk fry thing. All in all they were still yummy as crap. But not as good as their old fries. The sea salt they brag about putting on them didn’t seem so sea like. You know who needs new fries? Burger King. Fries what up!

Sammy’s BAR-B-Q

Yesterday, I was able to get over to Sammy’s Bar-B-Q in Dallas, Texas during the 4 hour daily window (11am – 3pm) that they’re open.  That above is sliced beef with ridiculous bbq sauce, accompanied by some partly mashed baked potatoes covered in cheese. There’s also some salad and texas toast to boot.  RECOMMENDED.

Richard Colman Reviews Red Velvet Fried Chicken

After hearing about the Red Velvet Fried Chicken at American Cupcake out in San Francisco, we had to know how it was. We sent the intrepid fried chicken lover, and artist’s artist Richard Colman along with his lovely girlfriend Monique to find out how good it was. The result?

“I’d say it was about a C. No real flavor to the chicken. That’s just it. They thought the red velvet would be enough (that part is very tasty) but no herbs and spices.”

There you have it, straight from the artists mouth.

Back Forty’s Summer Crab Boils

Last night a group of us went over to Back Forty to celebrate my birthday and eat some crabs. Given that New York is a couple hundred miles from crab country in the Chesapeake, we didn’t set our hopes particularly high especially since none of us had ever eaten crabs in a dining room.  Well, we were amazed. The crab boil at Back Forty is legit.  Nice sized crabs in an abundant amount, fantastic potatoes, even better corn, and pitchers upon pitchers of beer.  We picked and ate for a solid two hours.  If this sounds like something you want to do, act fast. The crab boils end next week with a two day extravaganza. Tickets are on sale now for Tuesday, and Wednesday.
