Congrats to our buddies Frederick and Maximilian Guerrero who have taken their visually encompassing tumblr, #Burgerlords, and turned it into a restaurant, also named Burgerlords. Before the meaty lifestyle space opens this October, the brothers will be doing a few pop-ups, including a first taste of Burgerlords tomorrow night (9/17) at Slow Culture Gallery.
More info on all of that here (you can win free hamburgers for a year)
Oinkster’s burger of the month for July is a version of Grill Em All’s La Parka Burger. Featuring Angus Beef with Carnitas, Chimichurri, Oaxacan Cheese & Doritos Crusted Tomatillos, you deserve to devour this.
As eaten by astronaut Terry Virts.
The ingredients if you want to make one at home: Beef patties, Russian mustard, tomato paste, cheese paste, and tortilla. Just make sure to follow it up with some space ice cream.
The prices for some of these things in NYC are crazy, but I guess that’s what you have to pay for delicious. I was first introduced to the patty melt during a brief semester at Ole Miss, and the craving for this burger topped with onions and cheese, crammed between two slices of rye doused in butter, and finished in a frying pan has never relented. If it’s on the menu, it’s being ordered.
The Spread Eagle Burger is an ode to the District of Columbia. HTTR!
For the fan, a baseball game is as much about the hang out as it is about the game. Those lucky enough to be in attendance at tonight’s All-Star game in Minneapolis will have the opportunity to watch the best players in action and eat some terribly good food while doing it. In addition to pouring beers for themselves in the new self-serve draft machines, fans at Target Field can select from an array of new food including: Lobster Corn Dogs, a 1 lb Hangover Burger (10 ounces of ground beef, six ounces of ground bacon, fried egg & fried onions), and a Footlong BratDog (a hot dog inside of a bratwurst that’s been wrapped in bacon and covered with sauerkraut and onions). Chances are those who indulge in the offerings will have trouble leaving their seats afterwards, but hey, there’s a game happening anyway.
