Everyone in Glasgow, make sure to head out to Recoat to catch Lyken Love & Elpho this Friday (18th) 7 to 10pm. for Haunted Graffiti. New Work by Elph One & Lyken Love. Lyken & Elph are taking over Recoat and covering the walls and windows with discarded architectural drawings and blueprints, that will act as a canvas for a mural and a backdrop to a series of paintings, drawings, prints. It sounds like its a perfect reason to make a trip to Glasgow.

The folks at Kia sent us a blurb about their Soul Collective tour, it features Jeff Staple’s car, RAIN CAMO. The tour on the other hand is nationwide event where they are spending 4 days in select cities, with live music from bands like MGMT, The Walkmen, Santigold, The Clipse, Against Me!, Major Lazer, Silversun Pickups etc,etc. If you’re in one of the select cities you should check it out. This weekend in Los Angeles, be sure to catch Scion installation 5: Self Portraits. Over the past year, the company has been sponsoring some really great events, and this is the culmination of their efforts with an Auction on Artnet.

Boston-based artist Kevin Cyr created the Camper Bike, which is a fully functioning RV and the subject of his paintings. Check out some more of his work here.
Here are a few updates for all our Pushead fans. He is doing a second bottle for the Mountain Dew Green Label Art series called “Scarecrow Genie” that will be available September 7th, at a special event here in NYC.
Pushead has also completed a collaboration with WESC headphones that is part of the MOUNTAIN DEW green label artist 3rd series under the cap promotion, there will be a sweepstakes to win limited edition prizes. The contest starts September 9th.(contest details)

Hu Ming was a member of the People’s Liberation Army during the Cultural Revolution. Hu’s sensual work featuring Chinese women is very surreal and provocative, it reminds me of Robert Williams’ work. Learn more about her and her work here in a great interview with the artist.
