A look through some of Kelsey Brookes‘ paintings currently on view at The Outsiders in London.

This show opened at Galerie Zürcher in Paris earlier this month. Being that Taylor McKimens creates super rad paintings, we wanted to show you a couple.

A retired electrician in southern France who once worked for painter Pablo Picasso says he has hundreds of previously unknown works by the artist” worth close to $80 million.  The work in question dates from the 1900-1932 Picasso’s blue period. Already the Picasso Estate is questioning how he came into possession of so many pieces. It has been estimated that in his career he has created over 20,000 works of art.

Opening on the 21st, Artist Guillermo Kuitca‘s retrospective at the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden in DC. Kuitca had his first show when he was 13, and now at 49, he has brought together a body of work that speaks to a long creative career. Make sure to check it out.

Megan Scheminske’s Google map paintings are minimal and beautiful. It’s an interesting comment on our cultural necessity to know where we are. When I first learned about her work, I expected photo-realistic landscapes from satellite imagery but, instead was pleasantly surprised at her approach and juxtaposition to it’s subject matter. The strength of the work comes from the process she creates. The location, Google, juxtaposition of the work, and interface experience. As the body of work grows the better it will get.

Sure, it looks like Dave Kinsey went to bed with Picasso’s ghost but, this has to be the best body of work Kinsey has produced to date. On view at Joshua Liner Gallery until October 9th

With subject matter ranging from erotic and bondage to the mundane, Reuben Negron’s watercolors are skilled and beautiful.

For his new show with Kime Buzzelli, and Albert Reyes at New Image Art, Kelsey Brookes created these two puzzle paintings. They’re pretty much magic.

“Each has 5 interchangeable parts which can be swapped out with each other (you can push the individual pieces out from the back of the frame using a pencil) making 25 unique paintings.”
