Ryan De La Hoz + Riley Payne open Leisure Time at Ed. Varie in the East Village, and it’s Summer Reading at The Hole when the gallery turns itself into “a giant art book reading room” for the fun group show.
Summer was in full effect, Matthew Higgs was on the wheels of steel, and Christos Katsiaouni was armed with a camera to capture the scene.
We’ll be back tomorrow, but before we go, if you’re in NYC or LA tonight there are some great art shows to check out.
Inside a gallery whose climate was likened to “a broken down subway car during rush hour,” REVOK and POSE showed off vibrant new artworks in their joint show “Uphill Both Ways.” Christos Katsiaouni navigated the sweaty traffic to capture the scene.
POSE & REVOK, Uphill Both Ways, a Two-Person Exhibition curated by Roger Gastman at Jonathan Levine Gallery.
Nice weather and a great book brought a good crowd onto the Bowery this past Friday night. Christos Katsiaouni was there to capture the scene.
A Brooklyn Photo Show at Superchief, Matt Mignanelli and Ryan Wallace at the Bleecker Street Arts Club, Ton von Ammon curates ‘Old Black’ at Team Gallery, and there’s a launch party for the new issue of ODISEO Mag at the Storefront for Art and Architecture at 97 Kenmare Street .
Last night on Pier 57, a crowd came together to dance to DJ Spooky and experience Garson Yu’s T.I.N.Y (The Interactive New York), a flickering subway ride to Elmhurst, Coney Island and beyond. The installation is on view through June 16th.
