Artist Eats: Paul Wackers

For this installment of “Artist Eats,” we asked Paul Wackers to share his favorite place to eat. Paul is a New York-based artist, who paints semi representational, geometric and fantastically full still lifes and landscapes. Continue reading for his answer.

“I think my favorite place to get food, after a lot of internal debating, is a pizza place In New Haven, CT, called Ernie’s Pizzeria,” Paul says. “I think I have been going here for 25 years or more. It is the bar I set other pizza up against. There may be some more famous places in New Haven but this one is solid on quality and having seen the same person make me pizza for so long shows some serious dedication and pride in what they do. It’s just really good. I think I always get a pie with mushrooms and it is perfect. So that’s it. I know this will cause some pizza hate, but give it a try.”
