The 25-Year-Old at the Helm of Lonely Planet by Charles Bethea

My favorite Lonely Planet memory: I was interning in NYC in the late ’90’s with a girl from France. One weekend I hung out with her and a group of her French friends. We were in Chinatown and she checked her French copy of Lonely Planet for a place to eat. When we sat down in the restaurant we realized everyone at our large communal table was French…..and then scanned to restaurant and realized EVERYONE eating at the Chinese restaurant was French.
