Thanks for that – Colbert had me laughing out loud at work, which rarely happens. That, and all subjective/direct criticism set aside, is an exchange that I believe is somewhat revealing of Koons’ persona/depth; both as someone struggling to ‘justify’ his work and basically (lack of a better phrasing) not necessarily shining for how sophisticated his outlook is about it all…say in comparison to when Fairey was on the show (and might have used half as many words to say thrice as much, and this with an agenda of social change versus “contemplation” and/or “how we’re balloons”.
