    Looks good.

Roughly how long does it take to cook? 10mins? 30mins?

So how about an estimated time for “eggs desire”?

  3. Why didn’t I ever think of this

    WANT!!!

About 15 minutes, less if you like runnier, more if you like firmer. I also brought the heat down a bit.

    I agree-are there estimated times?
Also, what is on top in the picture? Because it looks delicious

This looks incredible. This might be pushing it, but is there a way to cook the egg-vocado in a pan for those that are lacking ovens?

A good idea to balance avocado-cut a thin slice from bottom..

Toaster ovens are a great investment – I have a regular sized oven but use the toaster oven almost as much for smaller meals. Otherwise – fried egg with sliced avocado on top or omelette?

I make baked eggs in muffins tins all the time it usually takes 7 to 10 mins for a white outside and runny yolk.

  11. I just tried this and the whites ran all over. I realized there are different size ‘holes’ in the avocado. Do you scoop to make a large enough space for the whole egg?

Yvonne, I had the same problem. I used a large egg, which I think made the problem worse. cutting a larger pit probably would help, along with cracking the egg in a dish and then carefully transferring it into the avocado. Delicious recipe!

Wow, most of these comments are seriously retarded. Lacking in common-sense much? damn, it actually made me mad enough to comment.

I was guessing that I would need to scoop out some avocado to accommodate the egg – I had a fairly average-sized avocado and a fairly average-sized egg – but the egg whites still spilled over and I would have had to scoop out most of the avocado for that not to happen. So definitely look for really big avocados and really little eggs to make this recipe work best.
