Artist Eats: Mark Mulroney

For this installment of “Artist Eats,” we asked Mark Mulroney to share his favorite place to eat. Mark is a New York-based artist known for his humorously perverted paintings and murals.

“My favorite place to eat is Tacos Jalisco in Orange, California,” Mark says. “It is just off the 55 freeway, and tucked behind a Taco Bell and next to a liquor store and a laundry mat. Whenever I am in Southern California, I make a point to go there at least twice and I get the same thing every time: the chile relleno plate with a large horchata and a Negro Modelo. For around eight dollars, you can get all that and watch Chivas soccer on one TV, while another TV plays telenovelas. Orange County is swimming in chain stores and awful franchise restaurants, but Tacos Jalisco is a fabulous, cheap, clean place to get some Mexican food and do your laundry at the same time.”
