Artist Eats: Seonna Hong

Seonna Hong is a Los Angeles-based artist and animation art director. In 2004, she received an Emmy for her work on My Life as a Teenage Robot, and she continues to keep her plate full with national and international gallery shows. For this installment of “Artist Eats,” we asked Seonna to share her favorite places to eat.

“Wow, I love food so it’s hard to narrow it down,” Seonna says. “Here’s two.”

“The first is Cacao Mexicatessen in Eagle Rock. My favorite thing to eat there is everything. Can I say that? OK, if I have to choose, their chicken mole tacos with a side of rice and beans. The tortillas are handmade, everything is really fresh and the side of rice comes out in a little pyramid shape with a flag on top. I don’t know why, but I love that.”

“The second is Viet Noodle Bar in Atwater Village. My favorite thing to eat there is their White Fish Noodle. It’s this amazing white fish that’s light and full of flavor served over melt-in-your-mouth, light-as-air rice noodles. There was a period of time when I’d eat here several times a week. Sometimes twice in one day.”
