Don Kirshner passed away on Monday. Kirshner had an amazing career from writing songs for the Monkeys to producing In Concert, a show that introduced you to Alice Cooper, Curtis Mayfield, Seals & Crofts, Bo Diddley, The Allman Brothers Band, Chuck Berry, Blood, Sweat & Tears, Poco, and The Steve Miller Band, and Joe Walsh in 1972. In 1973 he premiered Don Kirshner’s Rock Concert which featured the Rolling Stones first Tv appearance in 4 years.(unable to locate a clip) This show was what MTV never was (see list after the jump).
