The 24 hour bar

A couple weeks ago we threw a party, and on top of all the fun the highlight for me was this bar that we had custom made.  Designed in collaboration between Charles Constantine and Chris Williams, the bar was made in 24 hours out of found or “reclaimed” materials on the streets of Bushwick.  Two end tables make up the main element and are clad in palette wood.  The top and side of the bar are 1/4″ plate that were cut from some junked structural beams and cleaned up.

Very nice – I like the over-sized 2x4s that add a bit of flair to the project. Curious; I wonder what terrifying liquid is inside those gallon jugs. .Yikes!

That shit is tits. Drill some shot glass sized holes along the front of the plate.

Honestly?.. You managed to do a VERY good job of getting super-flat plate out of the beam webs (after all that cutting and welding – so much energy expended doing that that ‘recycling’ wouldn’t make any sense) and the pallet slats seem to have lost a nail hole here and there (originally double-nailed as far as I can see).. that is if the pics posted are supposed to be the evidence of your claims.. Being into design you should know that God is in the details..

p.s it’s ‘pallet’.. or does it become ‘palette’ wood once it’s been made into something more pretentious?..
