the Art of Hu Ming
Hu Ming was a member of the People’s Liberation Army during the Cultural Revolution. Hu’s sensual work featuring Chinese women is very surreal and provocative, it reminds me of Robert Williams’ work. Learn more about her and her work here in a great interview with the artist.

Too bad Chinese girls are really skinny and look nothing like this…I really like the style tho’. It’s different.

Not sure where you’re living Choco, but the women here in Taiwan certainly look like many of the women in Hu Ming’s art. Sure, there’s plenty of thin women, but equally as many full figured. Unfortunately, they love to keep it all hidden – at least in the south.
