Oona bench and Christopher Chair by Charles Constantine

After previewing his work last week, Charles Constantine sent over some images of his two latest pieces. Very nice.
The Oona bench and Christopher Chair (above) are part of the “a family affair” series. The original chair, LS ( now Leefa) was made of solid maple, and was primarily an indoor chair. The second chair in the series, Christopher, is an outdoor chair made of aluminum and HDPE. The Christopher chair is cheap(er) to produce and is 100% recyclable. The welds are left on the chair to show off the skill of the fabricator, Christopher Williams.

The Oona bench is basically the child of The LS chair and the Christopher chair. Oona is “mud room” furniture. The Oona bench serves as a seat for two, or a seat for one with a side table, and has a coat rack built into the design. It is solid poplar, HDPE, and aluminum. The Oona bench packs flat, and can be easily assembled and disassembled. The coat rack leg, is affixed with a single, solid piece of stainless steel.
