Bret Easton Ellis was one of the first authors I enjoyed upon becoming a teenager.  I’m pretty sure it had something to do with the drugs, sex and wealth that were ever present in his books.  The Informers however, was the only book I didn’t really get, as it wasn’t as fluid and I assumed it was about (or could only focus on) vampires.  Years have passed since that introduction and now on the horizon is the big-screen adaptation of the tiny book.  If this movie—Starring Winona Ryder, Mickey Rourke, Billy Bob Thornton, Kim Basinger, Amber Heard and the late Brad Renfro—ends up being anything like the trailer, you will leave it in typical Ellis fashion, yearning for a drink, a bump, and a fuck.  Due out in May 2009
