Opening the same night as the Brooklyn Block Party at Ad Hoc Art, C215′s Junk Store blew away anything else in the gallery. Showcasing the French artist’s stencil skills and color palette, Junk Store is a refreshing addition to a genre of art that has begun to look all too similar. My favorite piece is above, and—because of my self-imposed moratorium—is still available at a very affordable price tag. Check out the rest of the room on C215′s flickr page.
Instead of giving the wine of the month or fruit of the month this year, Threadless 12 Club is offering the t-shirt of the month. 12 T’s for $200.00. Each month a design is selected by the crew at Threadless, and it’s in the mail. Great idea, especially since T’s are the new trading cards.
I just stumbled on this one when I was looking for some photos for Kate Moss…. We all know photos are retouched but, this is extreme photoshop. Could it be a new sport?
Tavo gloves allows you to operate your iphone or blackberry or ipod, without having to take them off. Great idea but it needs a little design. Maybe someone can come up with a finger condom to do this…. or maybe an adhesive sticker to put on your gloves. Any case this maybe the perfect gift for your geekiest friend.

“These Predicaments” David Stoupakis at Corey Helford Gallery. On View December 13 until December 31, 2008
“Corey Helford Gallery is proud to present “These Predicaments”, a solo exhibition of new works by pop surrealist David Stoupakis. For his second solo exhibition at the Gallery, Stoupakis parlays his talent for the supernatural and macabre into dramatic narratives that reveal symbolic turning points and unexpected dilemmas. A delicate balance of childhood innocence and haunting imagery, the series of oil-on-panel paintings and graphite drawings recounts grim fairytales of the decadent and demure. Marking a new direction for the artist, Stoupakis employs a brighter color palette than before and will unveil his largest piece to date for the exhibition…”
