SWOON in New Orleans
It seems that New Orleans has the potential to become the new Street Art Capital of America. An interesting cityscape with a multitude of surfaces to create on, its temperature is conducive to early morning missions. There is even a character, the Gray Ghost, who plays out the perfect storyline of Hero-artist / Hero-villian. Banksy has left his mark here, and now New York’s street art ‘goddess’ SWOON is decorating the streets of the Big Easy. Her graceful cut-outs will surely win over the city just as they have won over New Yorkers and the world abound. And honestly, if the art critic of the biggest paper in town gets to make awesome videos like the one above (My favorite quote coming at 1:37) than let it be and hope the artists keep coming. Cheap living, warm weather, and easy booze. Sounds like the future.
