Opening this Friday at the Luggage Store in San Francisco is Andrew Jeffrey Wright’s first West coast solo show, Art For Corporations.

It is a great weekend to be in San Francisco.

Wright’s exhibition will feature recent video/animation, photography, painting & drawings, collage, constructions and screen prints intended to provoke  and provide a satirical and absurdly humorous social commentary on corporate infuence on life and popular culture.

Several works in the exhibition will be created specifically for the ever growing art collecting entity known as the corporation.  The exhibition will also feature collaborations with Barry McGee, Clare E. Rojas, Isaac Lin and Crystal Kovacs.

Andrew Jeffrey Wright is a current and founding member of Philadelphia’s Space 1026 art commune. He holds a BFA in Animation from the Rhode Island School of Design. The collaborative animation “the manipulators”, created with Clare E. Rojas, won the top prize for animation at the New York Underground Film Festival and the New York Comedy Film Festival. Wright’s highly limited edition handmade books have gained an international following. His works include painting, animation, drawing, collage, photography, sculpture, video, installation and screen printing. He has shown at Lizabeth Oliveria (LA), New Image Art (LA), Spector (Philadelphia), The Luggage Store (San Francisco), Lump (Raliegh), The Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, ICA in Philadelphia, Giant Robot NY (NYC) The Corcoran (DC) and Foundation Cartier (Paris).
