Heroes & Villains at White Walls

The reception for Los Angeles photographers Tatiana Wills and Roman Cho’s show “Heroes & Villains” happens this Saturday July 12th, from 7 to 11 pm at White Walls in San Francisco. This nine-day show opened on Tuesday July 8th and runs through Thursday the 17th.
The show is the culmination of a three-year long project featuring intimate portraits of some of the most established and notable emerging figures in the Pop Surrealist, Street Art, and Alt-Comic Book worlds. Artist portraits includes Shepard Fairey (top left), Mark Ryden, Herbert Baglione, David Choe, Audrey Kawasaki (top right) and Dave Kinsey.
The collaboration between photographers Tatiana Wills and Roman Cho which began in 2005 has gained high recognition and been featured in editorials for Time and Juxtapoz magazines, as well as on numerous websites. Tatiana Wills is a self-taught photographer who assembled her skill from working in motion pictures, television, Seinger Advertising, and various entertainment agencies.

Roman Cho attended CalArts in Valencia, California with a degree in music but has seized his personal love for photography. Focusing on portraiture of active figures outside the spotlight of society, his impressive list of clients includes Universal Studios, New Line Cinema, and Los Angeles Magazine.
“Heroes & Villains” is an unmasking of artists who have otherwise remained faceless behind their art. The motive is to bring attention to the anonymous characters that shape the media, urban art, and visual culture of today. The 68 portraits range from larger dramatic pieces stretching to 8 feet across, to smaller, more intimate representations of an artist’s individual style. “Heroes & Villains” is a unique work of personality, action, beauty, and humor that shows the world the perpetrators of this ever-growing yet underground art culture.
Free of charge and open to the public, this special event has come to San Francisco from the Corey Helford Gallery in Los Angeles and will go on to travel to other cities around the nation.
