This book may or may not be particularly helpful to people interested in Shepard Fairey's career or aesthetic theory, or to graffiti and street art in general. As a theorist of street art and its relationship to capital, I was somewhat excited to read this collection despite my strong reservations about Fairey's art (be it street- or gallery-art). Unfortunately, the text is very poorly edited (as if someone blindly trusted the spelling and grammar checker in a Word Processor). There instead of their (and vice versa); possessives instead of pluralizations (ie. Milieu's instead of Milieus); that instead of then; I could go on. I find this book extremely difficult to read, not because it is particularly opaque in meaning, an not due difficulty with any concepts, but precisely because it is so poorly edited. I would encourage Ms Williams to take a look at her text, edit it properly, and insist that the publishers adhere to her edits. Ms. WIlliams should be shocked and disgusted by the striking and disturbing grammatical errors in her text.
