Would you like to go to China in under 4 hours? The BBC reports a British team has unveiled a concept hypersonic passenger jet that could potentially take customers from New York to Hong Kong in less than four hours.
The A2 airplane, designed by Reaction Engines, would carry 300 passengers at around 4,000 miles per hour -- all for the insanely high price of $7,000 a ticket.
The new jet runs -- or could run -- on liquid hydrogen, meaning the plane would emit drastically reduced levels of carbon dioxide.
But don't book your ticket just yet: The company says the aircraft, which is still in the early design stages, will not be in service for another 25 years -- if at all.
I thought since the the design is just concept I would offer my solution. It, "made the Kessel Run in less than twelve parsecs".
