Banksy NYC Update

Since we first brought you some Banksy sightings, a lot has changed. Readers discovered the locations of Banksy’s work: the Bronco Boy is in Harlem, there is a sweeping rat in the East Village along with the Bo Peep, the Pooh Bear in Chelsea was a sham, and another Girl stencil (above) was found in Brooklyn. Thanks to Luna Park for sorting this all out! Now, about the things that have changed. Remember the Bo Peep banging change out of the pay phone? Well, the pay phone is now gone. Remember the Bronco Boy? Somebody tried to chip him away in an act of jealousy or advantageous capitalism. This is what happens when a famous artist creates something for the public without authorization or security. In the end it is just graffiti anyway. Before and afters after the jump.

fucking vandal vandals! the beauty of banksy’s street stuff is that we can enjoy it for free! let the rich pay through the nose for his stuff, it finances he trips to give his work away to the rest of us.

The ‘bronco boy’ is gone. The wall was repaired and painted over.
