So I got my hands on a friends apple iphone, let's just say it's everything Steve says and more. One really cool feature is when you're out on the street and there is wifi available, the iphone brings up the names of the available networks. This feature lets you know which are open and which are locked (so you can leach on all the new airport users who forgot to make there network closed). If there are none available it will use the edge network, which also might be the only downside as well. So if anyone Apple haters want to buy a sidekick3, leave me a comment. I am stuck with it until my contract runs out. I cannot wait to start hearing about people getting robbed on the train for there iphone. Will you be able to transfer a stolen phone? If you want to see inside the phone and all of its glorious features, check out think secret.
Oh Snap. Really, that is how I have to sum up the collaborative project. I have no clue what these shoes look like, neither does Keith Hufnagel who brought this collab to light on the internet. Truly the worlds best album title (working title that is, I hope they keep it, very fitting). The Hives are in the studio around the world, according to Blender magazine, the Hives have recorded with Dennis Herring(Modest Mouse), Garret Lee (U2) and....Pharrell Williams(a whole lot of people). "We know we are the best at playing fast rock music," says Pelle Almqvist The Hives, outspoken frontman but we wanted to stretch in different directions."...."so far, "less cohesive but more interesting." Its been described as Rolling Stones disco era meets AC/DC......Sounds like a winner to me
Egypt's antiquities chief Zahi Hawass made the official announcement at a packed news conference in Cairo.
It is being billed as the biggest archaeological find in Egypt since the 1922 discovery of Tutankhamen's tomb.
Archaeologists hope the Hatshepsut, which has lain unrecognised for decades, will yield clues about the mystery of her death and subsequent disappearance.
Mr Hawass has set up a DNA lab near the museum with an international team of scientists to verify the identification.
The study was funded by the US television channel Discovery which is to broadcast a documentary on the subject in July.
An important piece of the evidence is said to be that the mummy has a missing tooth, and the gap matches exactly an existing relic, a preserved tooth engraved with Hatshepsut's name. Via the BBC.

Hopefully its not to late to become immortal. Troika is compiling and writing the first book on technology infused art, design and architecture. The book will flag a new generation of interaction designers, designers, artists and architects that are exploring new and creative uses for digital technology, being on a social, conceptual or aesthetic level.
"We are looking for projects where a non-linear train of thought is apparent in the end result, where technology is re-invested with subjectivity and play, art projects for mass production, products that trigger thoughts as a book or a film can do."
The book will be published and distributed world-wide by Thames and Hudson.
It will feature over 100 protagonists over 304 pages, and will include interviews by leading critics, designers and artists, such as Ron Arad, Anthony Dunne, and Machiko Kusahara.
Submit your work by emailing project description and low-resolution pictures at studio@troika.uk.com

So, when I was about 12 years old in 1991 there was this great show on MTV—you might remember it—120 minutes. I used to tape this show on vhs and stew over it for 2 hours the following day, since staying up from 12 - 2 am on a Sunday did not really cut it for a pre-teen like myself. Let's fast forward to 2007, maybe 16 years to the date of the first time I saw the show. Apparently VH1 Classic is doing there own version of 120 minutes now, with all the old tracks that I was obsessed with. Same time, midnight Sunday, same length, 120 minutes and same good stuff. They even have a bit you can watch online here.

As first reported by Wooster Collective and then more thoroughly by The Gothamist, 24 year old Alan Cooper of Bushwick was arrested for attempted arson after trying to set off a stink bomb at Shepard Fairey's installation space opening in Dumbo on Thurdsay night. Apparently when authorities ignited the stink bomb after the fact in a safe place a flame burst of 4 feet was allegedly seen. While doing a photo edit for a round-up of the weekend's events I encountered a shot of Mr. Cooper in shock as TWBE photographer Steven Torres unknowingly catches him outside chatting up his accomplice in what must have been moments before his idiocy prevailed.
Earlier this morning, four banksy pieces went up on the auction block at sotheby's in london. As usual, the bidding crushed pre-auction estimates. The high bids going to Mona Lisa with and AK-47 and Fuck The Police (pictured) each taking in £130,000 pounds a piece. The 'Keep it Real Monkeys' (below) went for a modest £120,000. You have to love it.

Well its that time again, the Coney Island Mermaid Parade! Since every free newspaper has a picture of a half naked women with shells on her breast we thought we would let you know what its really like! Its a Jesus in a wheelchair with a big dildo! Its been awhile since I have gone, to the parade. I can remember the days where the police did not even bother showing up. Now it feels like its on lock down! When you have your graduate show, you hope to sell some pieces. If you have it in England, I guess you should expect to sell out. James Howard did just this. Famed collector Charles Saatchi bought up Howard's entire collection of 46 works for a modest sum of £4500. Howard's work which are all digital prints comprised of collages (choppy photoshop), mimic internet advertising. Maybe I missed the boat on this guy, but I would rather drown than have something like this in my vicinity. Oh England, you crazy little island. Via the Times

Everyone is at the Moma for Richard Serra, while your there check out Dan Perjovsch,"What Happened to Us?" It is a refreshing elegant installation, that catches you off-guard. Dan Perjovschi (Romanian, b. 1961), who lives and works in Bucharest, has transformed the medium of drawing, using it to create an object, a performance, and an installation. In the last decade, Perjovschi has made his drawings spontaneously in museum spaces, allowing global and local affairs to inform the final result. For his first solo museum exhibition in the United States, the artist will draw witty and incisive political images, in response to current events, on one wall of The Donald B. and Catherine C. Marron Atrium. Two weeks before the official opening, beginning April 19, Perjovschi will draw on the wall during public hours, allowing visitors to observe the creation of the work. The project is accompanied by a pamphlet created by the artist.
With all the buzz growing about Shepard's upcoming E Pluribus Venom show this week, SuperTouch gives us a quick glimpse inside of the installation space, here

No do not adjust your dials, this is not a test. Above, a view of Julian Schnabel’s new hot-pink high-rise at 360 W. 11th St. Via thevillager.com "...Andrew Berman, the Greenwich Village Society for Historic Preservation’s director, said he suspects the worst. “I don’t know for sure — but my fear is that this will be the color,” he said. “I think virtually any other color would be more acceptable.” Berman called the building — with arched windows and clay roof tiles — Mediterranean style. “What it actually looks like is a house you would see in the hills above Hollywood — if it was two stories. On the Greenwich Village waterfront at 17 stories, it’s a nightmare,” he said. The preservationist thought this very may well be intentional — that Schnabel wants to punish, with pink, those who opposed him." It will be very interesting to see how this plays out.

Today, in the New York Times discover all the sounds at your local cops fingertips. "Earsplitting Symphony" experience the menu of sirens available to New York City police officers, each one making a specific impression, each at an officer’s fingertips. The sirens allow officers to choose sounds with a personal touch, like the conductors of a screeching, sound-bending orchestra. And there is something new. Christened with a tantalizing name, the rumbler it sends out low, bone-rattling vibrations, so it is not only heard, but also felt. One has been tested on the streets of New York, but the jury is out on whether it is effective, offensive or terrifying. To experience them all check out the story.
Banksy has created another epic piece, this time on the grounds of Glastonbury. "Now he has built a replica of Stonehenge using porta-loos, including a sunken 'altar' centrepiece, in the 'Sacred Space' field at the famed British festival." It looks gorgeous, but probably smells horrible. He is quoted by the Guardian as saying "A lot of monuments are a bit rubbish," he said, "but this really is a pile of crap." Last night The World's Best Ever & The Chutney Collection crept out to Bushwick to visit the opening of No Sleep Till Bushwick, a show featuring Skewville, Bast, Aiko, and Chris Mendoza. By the time we reached, the british had already made their impact (currencied & frenzied) felt, purchasing up all but one of Aiko's works. Basts pieces left a bit more to the imagination and did not fully flatter what is usually his solid work. In the back room there were more Bast pieces that were not hung, but should have been as they were the strongest of his work, the gems being a painting titled "the Duke" and two "Revolucion de Papel" screens on some type of foil. The sleeper in this show was its organizer, Skewville. They hit hard and consistent, with works on wood and metal in a classic ode to the street and street fixtures. Until next time. More pics after the jump.

Robert Langhorn's "The Rem" vase was the result, the name an abbreviation of Remington – the style of bullet casing that the vase is based on. Not only is this vase of interest because of its origins, but because these very origins can be so easily missed. Langhorn’s other designs are just as creative, such as the Trench table or Work, Rest & Splay garden fork/seat, but none as provocative as the Rem.

So the last laugh is on the critic, after reading all the headlines about how the last episode was horrible. I just recieved this forwarded email, that explains it all.
He was killed....
in fact, the ending was genius if you've paid attention to the show or are just a fan of well developed well thought out plots that all tie together and have the memory of a champ to remember it all the ending was simple, he got killed, but let me tell yall why and explain in detail... There was 3 people in the room total who had a reason to kill tony.....
the two black guys, they were paid before to kill tony but he was only shot in the ear, this was in one of the earlier seasons, also in the earlier seasons, the trucker who was sitting at the bar stool, who the camera kept focusing in on, is Nikki leotardo, Phil Leotardos nephew, he was in one of the early season episodes where Phil and Tony have a sit down....
heres where the genius comes in....
When tonys walking in the diner, you see the camera focus on him, then it switches to his perspective, and you see him looking @ the booth he's gonna sit at...then the camera switches back to tonys face, then it once again switches to his perspective, and it shows him looking @ the door and looking @ the people come in..... Everytime the door opens the Chimes sound....... Carmela walks in, Chimes, AJ walks in Chimes, this when Meadows parallel parking, still trying to get inside the restaurant....at this point the camera switches back to the trucker who goes in the bathroom......Then it goes to a scene where meadow finally parks and starts running in the diner....
the doors about to open,
Tony looks up....
and No Chimes......................
No Music............
Everything just goes black...............
In one of the early episodes of the sopranos, tonys talking with bobby about what it must feel like to die..Bobby says "at the end, you probably dont hear anything, everything just goes black" part of that was revisited in the second to last episode during the last seconds of it, when tonys about to go to sleep and he flashes back to the memory of him and bobby on the boat... "You probably dont hear anything everything just goes black" so in the end, the Journey song was playing, the chimes on the door sounded but when meadow came in, the guy in the trucker hat came out and killed tony...its the reason you aint hear, or see sh*t when he died.... it was from his perspective.... and everything went black, then the credits rolled.

As we watched Paris go back to Jail, (Lindsay must be sweating bullets), this interview with Tommy Chong, you know since he is a celebrity and he also went to jail, was by far twbe!
So I was in San Fran. this weekend for a wedding, which includes a bachelor party. It starts off basically the same as all bachelor parties with a group of guys who have never gone out anywhere together packed together in a limo, heading for the big city.
Drinking, jokes, jukebox's..... and then the club's, strip clubs that is. We start out at one where there are three guys standing at the bar where full length trench coats and wide brim hats, right out of a 1920's gangster movie. They were dressed like Bugsy, and Capone, and the girls, lets just say were not top notch, it cost 5 dollars to get in and it was in Chinatown. Nothing wrong with the location, it just... well looked a little weak!
One beer later we are back in the ride off to Mitchell Brothers. For the record, I have never been there nor do I think anything will be able to top the experience. As you walk in ($30 cover) you are given a plastic cup, for the free fountain soda, and led down a hall. Now, to the point, do you remember the film Requiem for a Dream, staring Jennifer Connelly, and the singer from 30 seconds to mars, more importantly do you remember the last scene with Jennifer? I walk into a room with two women on the floor on a blanket, surrounded by men holding illuminated batons and illuminating the "action", and the "action" was not limited by a 10 foot law lets just say. Later on that evening a friend and I were propositioned while listening to LL Cool J, "going back to cali" a fully nude girl walked up and said " I want to fuck you to LL." If that is not prostitution, then call me naive. This truly makes Mitchell Brothers twbe, legal prostitution/stripclub in San Francisco. (scary).

Maybe the brit's are taking it too far with the bring back the rave scene because the logo that they have gone with for the 2012 Olympics looks like it should be on Pop Rocks packaging. Evidently it causing quite a stink across the pond. What was supposed to appeal to the youth with a graffiti rock feel, doesn't appeal to anyone.

"It may not be officially summer yet, but a new crew of interns have already joined the Teen Vogue team."
Why? you may ask. Because deep down, those offices of Teen Vogue are something very special. So the intern blog is a way for all of us to really get to know these girls and that is what matters most. Commenter/Wannabe reggiebelle said "if Barbie had an internship, i bet she would have chosen your job because it's every girl's dream! she might have worn a burberry trench to her interview, as well. :)" Friggin gems.
In the age of reprising roles, action hero roles, we have yet another, Dirty Harry. This time we find Clint Eastwood, picking up his Smith and Wesson, and his role as "Dirty Harry" Callahan". This time although, he is smart, a little smarter than Indiana Jones smart, he is voicing in the character in the upcoming video game (originally announced in 2005) which is slated to come out this year.
In what will probably be his last print release before E Pluribus Venom later this month, Shepard drops a doozy titled 'Revolutionary Woman with a Brush'. Deep, I know.

People who love to gorge should think big. Major League Eating oversees professional eating competitions and television specials. The main draw is the July Fourth hot dog eating contest in Coney Island. Perennial favorite Takeyu Kobayashi saw his record of 53 3/4 hot dogs and buns crushed this past Saturday by Joey Chessnutt who consumed a whoppping 59 1/2 hot dogs and buns. This year's contest is sure to be epic, train hard and one day you could be a pro too.
I am not a big fan of remakes, and their ability to destroy the original's credit and childhood memories, (texas chainsaw...,hills have eyss...herbie). I do like Rob Zombie, and his love for pure horror films. The one and only time I met him was back in 95, in LA at a shop on Sunset with Phil Anselmo (of Pantera). Rob was buying film reels of old horror movies (Bela Lugosi, Boris Karloff). He did not say much, at the time I only knew Phil. Plus, I thought it was strange buying "reels"... why would you want that? Twelve years later we have the remake trailer for Halloween which will be out this year, and I assume around halloween. If that is not a sign for the love of horror, and this trailer is not the sign, I am not sure what is.
One of twbe, boxsets, the films that defined Clint, and defined the anti hero. You don't always have to be where white to be the good guy. Available on June 5th. From the innovative "James Bond Western" style of A Fistful of Dollars (1964) to the complete restoration of Duck You Sucker (1971), The Sergio Leone Anthology pays lavish tribute to one of the greatest of all Italian directors. A lifelong film buff deeply influenced by the movies he enjoyed as an uneducated youth in southern Italy, Leone (1929-1989) had officially directed only one previous film (1961's The Colossus of Rhodes) when he recruited a relatively unknown American TV star named Clint Eastwood (on a modest salary of $15,000) and made cinema history with A Fistful of Dollars, not the first Western made by an Italian but certainly the first truly Italian entry in the "Spaghetti Western" genre that Leone virtually invented.
“Naked Girls Smoking Weed” by Rob Griffin (Goliath Books) is the book title of the month according to SuperTouch. No words are needed here to describe the content or the M.O. of this brand-new little hardcover coffee-table book, it just simply is what it is, and we love it for that. Some of their other titles include,"Naked happy Girls", "Pervy Girls" ,and "Pantys".
In honor of the release of the Beatles, SGT Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band, we have posted the trailer to the best bad movie ever! The BeeGee's Rock! The film also features Steve Martin, George Burns, Areosmith, Peter Frampton, Alice Cooper, and Earth wind and fire. I am feeling a remake is a brewing.
